Borna Barisic is prepared to listen to offers about potentially leaving Rangers this summer, according to a report by Soccer Link.
The French media outlet claim that Dijon are looking at strengthening their squad after just surviving the drop from Ligue 1.
After losing Oussama Haddadi, the French outfit apparently see the Croatia international as the man to replace him.
Barisic endured a rather difficult first season at Rangers as he was hampered by injuries and found himself left out of the side on a number of occasions.
Despite being rather lethal in terms of his creativity with six assists, the 26-year-old has only managed to make 23 appearances for the Light Blues following his £2.2million move from NK Osijek 12 months ago (Sky Sports).
Steven Gerrard hardly hid his frustrations when he lost the left-back to injury prior to their Old Firm derby match against Celtic during the international break and believed the player should have returned as quickly as possible (Evening Times).
The defender later admitted that there was a misunderstanding, but that it had since been resolved (Scottish Sun) and it appears he is working hard to put himself firmly back within the first-team picture after being absent for much of last season.
Barisic had an excellent outing against Gibraltarian outfit St Joseph’s when he provided Rangers with two assists in their 4-0 win in Europa League qualifying (Transfermarkt).
It seems as though Barisic, provided he stays fit, could still have a role to play at Rangers in the upcoming campaign whilst it would appear unlikely that Gerrard would be prepared to allow him to leave after 12 months at the club considering that there are no other recognised left-backs in the squad (Transfermarkt).
No offer or approach has been mentioned within Soccer Link‘s report, so it might just be pure speculation at this moment in time. But, the fact that they state the 26-year-old is willing to listen to offers suggests that he could be looking to depart Ibrox this summer.
However, with time still left in the transfer window, it would be difficult to rule out any possible move at this present moment in time.
