Rangers were extremely active in the summer with their recruitment drive and judging by early results, it appears Steven Gerrard and co got things right.
The Light Blues are currently undefeated when it comes to European competition, having reached the Europa League group stages, whilst they also currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership.
The results have not all been great, with the Ibrox outfit having been pegged back on a couple of occasions, however, things are looking pretty promising for the Glaswegians at the present moment.
And one man who is delighted that their hard work in the summer has paid off is the director of football at the club, Mark Allen.
Together with Gerrard, he oversaw the whole squad change with 15 new faces being brought into Ibrox, whilst 17 familiar faces were sent packing.
Allen, who also spotted a number of the talented players currently within the Light Blues setup, has revealed he is extremely satisfied with the hard work appearing to have already started to reap its rewards.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “I don’t think it’s just my work, it’s a team effort.
“It was a very busy summer and I think we knew we were in for quite a busy transition from the outset.
“As soon as the season finished really we were ready and into the planning phase and well ahead in terms of targets.
“And then obviously with the new manager coming in it was sitting down with him, comparing those targets against his preferences and then away we went in terms of the recruitment drive.
“Overall, it’s a lot of new players to come in but we’re very comfortable and very pleased at this stage with how they’ve all settled in.”
Rangers will have been pleased with their early form so far into Gerrard’s tenure at Ibrox and that in part has to do with the players they brought in.
The Light Blues brought in a mixture of experienced heads and those that are looking to make a name for themselves in football and it appears to be paying off on the pitch.
Allen will not be the only one to be very pleased with how the squad is performing, however, after the poor transfer business the club has conducted in the past, he will be jumping over the moon to have seen the Gers get their recent transfer dealings right.
