Rangers complete deal for Kyle Lafferty

Rangers have continued their transfer activity this summer and have added another striker to their ranks.

The club have announced on their official website that Kyle Lafferty has joined the Light Blues on a two-year deal.

The Northern Ireland international left Ibrox six years ago, however, Steven Gerrard was keen to bring him back to the club as he looks to turn the Glaswegians into a side that can compete for the Scottish Premiership.

Lafferty, who experienced lifting the trophy a number of times with Rangers, will add competition to the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq, as well as the valuable knowledge he has of the top-flight.

Gerrard was delighted with the signing of the 30-year-old and revealed he had felt the striker ticked all the boxes that he had been looking for.

“I believe we are a young squad, so he brings vital experience to us. He is a Rangers nut and I think he ticks all the boxes in what I am looking for in terms of what I want from a front man,” he told the club’s official website.

The Verdict:

Lafferty should prove to be an excellent addition for Rangers this summer.

There is no doubt that he is a quality striker and, with his experience and knowledge, he will help to turn the Light Blues into a significant attacking threat.

The Northern Irishman had a solid record for the Ibrox outfit during his first spell with the club and Gerrard will be hoping he can replicate that for him this season.
