Rangers confident of landing Kyle Lafferty

Steven Gerrard is keen to bring more faces to Rangers this summer and it looks as though he has not given up on one of his targets.

According to a report in The Daily Record, The Light Blues have reopened talks with Heart of Midlothian about a possible deal for Kyle Lafferty.

The report also states that the Ibrox outfit are confident that they can land the Northern Ireland international within the next 48 hours.

Rangers have already had a couple of offers knocked back for the 30-year-old, including a cash plus player offer last week.

It is understood that the Jambos want £750,000 for their forward, who netted the winner against Celtic at the weekend, and the Light Blues are thought to be convinced a deal can be sorted before the end of the week.

The Verdict:

Rangers are in need of adding another striker to their ranks and if they can bring their former player back to Ibrox they will be delighted.

Gerrard currently only has Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq as his recognised attackers and will want to add depth to their squad.

Lafferty’s return would certainly be a welcomed one, especially following last weekend’s winner against Old Firm rivals Celtic.
