Rangers confirm loan deal for Jamie Barjonas

Steven Gerrard is continuing to reshape his squad this summer as one more player has decided to head for the exit at Rangers.

According to the club’s official website, Rangers have announced that Jamie Barjonas has joined Bury on a loan deal until January.

The 19-year-old is thought to be a highly-rated talent at Ibrox and Gerrard will be keen to see him continue his development with the League Two outfit.

The midfielder has already made nine first-team appearances for the Light Blues since making his debut in May 2017.

Barjonas’ last competitive appearance for the club was in December of the same year when he helped to give Rangers a win against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

The Verdict:

A loan move is the best thing for everyone involved in the deal as Barjonas was unlikely to get an opportunity in the senior side.

Gerrard has packed out his midfield with a number of new recruits this summer, however, he will be keen for his young talents to get some regular playing time.

Barjonas has followed Greg Docherty out to the some of England’s lower leagues this summer, as they look to get some experience and aid their developments.
