Rangers considering swoop for Milad Mohammadi

Rangers will be preparing for their clash with FK Shkupi in the Europa League, however, it does not appear to have halted the club’s desire to continue with their recruitment drive.

Steven Gerrard is preparing for his first competitive fixture in charge of the Light Blues and will be expecting his team to do better than they did last season in the competition, having been embarrassed at the same stage.

The new manager has been active in the transfer market to ensure that his side has enough strength and quality to become a competitive force once again, however, reports are now suggesting that he is still considering making a couple more additions.

The Scottish Sun are claiming the Gers could make a move for Akhmat Grozny’s Milad Mohammadi, following his performances for Iran during the World Cup.

The left-back, who went viral with the roly-poly throw-in that he then decided against taking when facing Spain, is thought to cost in the region of £2million and it is believed obtaining a work permit would not be an issue.

The Verdict:

Gerrard and Rangers are continuing their efforts to making their side stronger and Mohammadi could turn out to be a smart addition.

The 24-year-old is extremely versatile as he can play on the left-hand side as a winger and left-back and the right-hand side of the defence, however, those are positions the Light Blues already have depth in.
