Rangers are believed to be continuing to watch a midfielder who is thought to be in high demand from clubs in the Premier League.
According to a report by talkSPORT, Maritimo’s Josip Vukovic continues to impress with his performances in 2019 and the Light Blues are thought to be keeping tabs on him.
However, it is claimed Steven Gerrard could face some tough competition should they look to sign him in the summer.
The likes of Chelsea, Leicester City, Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to be keen on the 26-year-old, whilst there is also interest from Portugal with Benfica continuing to watch him.
Vukovic has made 16 appearances for Maritimo so far and has impressed with his ability to read the game and make a number of crucial tackles just in front of the defence.
Despite Maritimo’s struggles in the Primeira Liga this season, Vukovic has continued to impress and produce a number of quality performances.
The 26-year-old appears to have found his feet and is starting to develop into a great player after what has been a rather nomadic career to date.
Rangers already have a number of options that are similar to the Croatian and with some of England’s bigger clubs thought to be interested, whether a move to Ibrox happens remains to be seen.
