Rangers made a number of transfers in the summer when Steven Gerrard took over the reins at Ibrox.
Some of them have proven to become excellent additions, however, some have unfortunately not worked out as well as many would have hoped.
One man that falls into that category is Umar Sadiq, who joined on loan from AS Roma as a man to challenge Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty for a starting berth.
The Nigerian has failed to do that so far, and when given his opportunity, he has struggled to make a real impact, with his performances leaving fans with a lot to desire.
And, it appears things could be about to get worse for the youngster, as reports are suggesting Gerrard could be prepared to cut his time at Ibrox prematurely.
Should a new frontman be signed in the winter, it would more than likely confirm that Sadiq’s time as a Rangers player is over.
The striker has endured a miserable time at Ibrox so far and has failed to make a real impression under Gerrard, despite having limited opportunities to do so.
However, it does hardly come as a surprise and ending the loan deal early could be the best thing for all parties concerned.
