Rangers could have a busy January as Gerrard wants new faces

Rangers were extremely busy in the summer when it came to transfers, with a number of players arriving and departing from Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard made his mark straight away with the team by making a host of changes from the previous season and gave the Light Blues a fresh start.

Some signings have hit the ground running, however, some have also yet to find their feet and it appears that Gerrard may not be prepared to wait around for that to happen.

According to a report by the Daily Express, it is understood that the manager could be very active once again in the transfer window.

It is believed that Gerrard could use January as a chance to bring in a striker, a creative player, a midfielder and another defender to the team.

Rangers made several signings in the summer to try and improve those areas, however, it is believed he is looking to bolster his squad as they continue to impress in the Europa League.

The Verdict:

Gerrard would not be wrong to enter the transfer market in January, however, should he bring in more players, he may have a tough task keeping some of his current squad happy.

He made several acquisitions in the summer, especially in the defence, although there is a case that certain areas need strengthening further, for instance, in attack and the final third.

It remains to be seen what happens in January, however, at the moment it appears that January could be yet another busy month of transfer activity for Rangers.
