Rangers could have suffered a season-ending blow – Report

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting a better performance at the weekend against their Old Firm rivals Celtic, however, they will be without a key man for their clash.

The Gers bounced back from their 4-0 defeat in the Scottish Cup semi-final with a 2-1 victory against Heart of Midlothian and Graeme Murty will be looking for a similar response from the Light Blues.

Wes Foderingham had to miss out on the win with a long-standing shoulder issue and the Daily Record are now reporting he could miss the rest of the season and his manager is not prepared to risk making it worse.

This latest setback for Rangers is one in a long line of problems building up at Ibrox and on the under-fire manager. Frustrations were evident during the 4-0 defeat to the Bhoys when players were squaring up to each other on the field whilst Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace have both been suspended following a dressing room bust-up with Murty.

Should Brendan Rodgers’ side secure a win against their Old Firm rivals, they will be crowned Scottish Premiership champions for the eighth time in a row.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be expecting a much better performance from their side at the weekend and will feel Foderingham’s absence dearly, however, they will be hoping Jak Alnwick can step up and produce a fine performance.
