Rangers have been incredible under Steven Gerrard so far this season as they continue to push for the Scottish Premiership title and a spot in the Europa League.
The Bluenoses are a force to be reckoned with this season having enjoyed an incredibly strong start, as Celtic find themselves lagging behind. And, it appears as it Steven Gerrard’s side are in pole position to secure a signing, as according to The Express, Rangers are ahead of Celtic in the race to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.
Both Glasgow clubs are interested in landing Worrall before the Scottish transfer window closes on August 31.
Rangers are said to have edged ahead in the race to land the defender, but Celtic have the financial clout to match any offer even though they have missed out on Champions League football for this season.
Yet it may be a loan deal that comes to fruition before next Friday’s deadline, as it’s believed that Worrall may become available.
Rangers could do with adding another central defender to their ranks this summer, and it appears as if Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall may be the man.
Indeed, the central defender has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in the Championship over the years, but he could now move to Ibrox on loan for the season.
Steven Gerrard has made a number of shrewd signings so far this summer and Joe Worrall would add to the list as a promising defender than knows how to ensure solidity.
