Rangers Eduardo Herrera returns to Mexico on loan

Rangers will be looking ahead to their Europa League showdown with FK Shkupi as they look to progress to the next round of the competition.

Steven Gerrard’s side holds a two-goal advantage over their Macedonian opposition and will feel confident that they can get the result needed.

It will be the first true test that the former Liverpool star has managed to pass since his appointment as Light Blues boss, however, he has been making waves long before his first competitive fixture.

Gerrard has added a number of players to his side this summer as he looked to completely change the way the team looked. He has also seen a number of players leave Ibrox as well having deemed them surplus to requirements and it appears one more man has left Glasgow.

According to a report in The Scotsman, Eduardo Herrera has completed a season-long loan deal to return to Mexico with Santos Laguna.

The player arrived at Ibrox last summer for a fee around £1.5million, however, he failed to make a real impact.

The Verdict:

A move is not really surprising and would have been best for Herrera as he was unlikely to get any more game time than he did previously.

With the arrival of Umar Sadiq and Alfredo Morelos remaining at the club, the Mexican would have struggled to get the opportunities to make the impact.
