Rangers eyeing move for Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn

Rangers eyeing move for Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn - Latest News

Steven Gerrard may have already been busy adding to his Rangers squad this winter, however, it appears he has another name on his radar.

Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis have already arrived on loan, whilst Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones have signed pre-contract agreements ahead of summer moves.

However, it appears Gerrard could be about to raid his former club as he looks to further strengthen his attacking options.

According to a report by The Scottish Sun, Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn remains a person of interest for those at Ibrox.

Gerrard tried to bring the highly-rated teenager to the Light Blues in the summer before he completed a disappointing loan switch to Sheffield United.

Liverpool recalled him and it is understood he will be made available for loan again this January and Rangers are thought to be keen.

However, there is plenty of interest in the Wales international, with a number of Championship clubs all linked.

The Verdict:

Gerrard has already had Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent at Rangers from Liverpool, so it is no real surprise Woodburn is the latest to be linked with a move.

The Wales international is highly-rated by those at Anfield and a move to Ibrox could benefit everybody involved, especially after his disappointing spell with Sheffield United.

Woodburn is an exciting prospect and appears to have a really bright future ahead of him and teaming up with Kent and Gerrard could help him to develop further.
