Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has signed a new contract with the club, keeping him at Ibrox until 2023 (via rangers.co.uk).
Will Rangers win the league?
The 27-year-old joined the Glasgow club from Aberdeen in 2017, and this is the second time he has been given a contract extension having previously agreed fresh terms in December 2018 (via rangers.co.uk).
He has become a key player for Steven Gerrard, and this season he has started 16 games in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists (via Transfermarkt).
Speaking to the official club website about his new deal, Jack said: “I’m over the moon and I’m looking forward to the future now. With the length of contract the club has given me, I hope to repay that in the next three-and-a-half years.”
The Scottish international has become a fans favourite at Ibrox, perhaps due to the fact that his first goal for the club was the winner in an Old Firm derby against Celtic last season (via BBC Sport).
He has missed their last two games due to injury (Transfermarkt), and his absence was felt as they could only manage a draw against Hearts last weekend.
Upon hearing the news that Jack had penned new terms at the club, several Rangers fans on Twitter were absolutely delighted. Here is what some of them had to say…
