Rangers fans everywhere take to Twitter to call for a senior opportunity for Andy Dallas

Every club always seems to have that one young player who the fans have incredibly high hopes for. At Ibrox, that man is the young, in-form Andrew Dallas, who just can’t stop scoring for the Gers’ development squad. Yesterday saw the young Scottish striker bag a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Kilmarnock’s development side, and the Bluenoses can’t wait for him to get a chance under Gerrard.

To say that the 19-year-old scores for fun is an understatement. His goalscoring record is nothing short of incredible and if he can get a senior opportunity and keep up his current record then he could well be giving the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty a run for their money in the coming years, even if that does look a long way off at the moment given the fact Dallas is still a teenager.

Steven Gerrard worked as Liverpool’s U18 manager before he took up Ibrox role, so he knows a thing or two about working with developing stars. That will surely bode well for Dallas, who Gerrard will be keen to give an opportunity when the time is right, but only when the player himself is ready. It happens a lot where a young player bursts onto the scene and gets burnt out by over-exposure to senior football and that’s the last thing that the Gers want to see happen to Dallas.

Keeping that in mind, here’s what the Gers have had to say about Dallas:

The Bluenoses cannot wait to see their academy product in the first team, although they’ll be hoping Gerrard handles it well and doesn’t ruin Dallas’ career before it’s begun.
