Rangers coasted into the next round of the Scottish League Cup with a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Scottish minnows East Fife.

The Light Blues advanced to the quarter-final stage of the competition and will head away from home once again as they meet Livingston for a place in the last-four.
Goals from Jermain Defoe, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo were enough for Steven Gerrard’s side and the latter of the trio appeared to continue to win praise from the Rangers faithful on social media.
The 23-year-old has been nothing but exceptional for the Ibrox outfit since making the switch from Charlton Athletic in the summer and continued his fine form for the Light Blues once again on Sunday.
Having already been rather lethal in European competition, Aribo appears to have taken to Scottish football rather well as he has an impressive four goals in eight appearances (WhoScored).
Ibrox Noise lauded his performance against East Fife, handing him a rating of nine and wrote: “By contrast, while Aribo did dip a little in the middle third of the match (we’ve noticed he does this), the quality of the recent Nigeria call-up was unmistakable. Some of his touches, runs, and uses of the ball overall were of the highest order, and despite the horror conditions, opposition and the plastic pitch he stood out like a sore thumb”.
Rangers News were also pleased with what they saw from Aribo, as they gave him an eight and stated: “Best performer in midfield but it wasn’t a brilliant afternoon for the Gers engine-room overall. Showed plenty of tenacity to win the ball back consistently in a congested midfield and used it intelligently. Always available for a pass. Grabbed the third goal late on.”
Fans appeared to share the same opinions as the two fan sites on Twitter and left plenty of positive reactions towards the new recent addition.
Here are just some of them…

Joe Aribo is the prime example of what a baller looks like.

Aribo streets ahead of the rest on that pitch tbh.
Disappointed Stewart never made more of his opportunity, but Polster looks adequate at RB as cover for Tav.
Overall, can’t see many from that team (Defoe, Aribo & Jones apart) getting in the first 11 anytime soon.
