Rangers fans on Twitter pleased to see Hodson leave for St Mirren

Rangers fans have been taking to Twitter today to show their relief at the news that Lee Hodson has been loaned out to St Mirren for the season. The 26-year-old right-back was never good enough at Ibrox and the supporters are pleased to see that he’s moved. Fans can read more about the news on the Rangers website.

Hodson joined Rangers back in 2016 when he swapped life at Milton Keynes Dons for a life in Glasgow. However, he failed to live up to the standards expected of a player at one of Europe’s most famous clubs and the supporters quickly realised that he wasn’t going to be good enough for them. This loan to St Mirren may not be the last that the Rangers fans see of Hodson but they’re hoping it will be.

The ex-MK Dons defender has made just 27 appearances for the Gers, scoring one goal in that time and the fans will be hoping that he can find his level at St Mirren. The Northern Ireland international has 24 caps to his name and he’ll be keen to keep his place in the national team with some good performances for his new club in the Scottish Premier League.

The fans will be keen to see Hodson do well at St Mirren but won’t be expecting to him to play his way back into Steven Gerrard’s first team anytime soon when he returns.
