Rangers fans on Twitter prepared for FC Ufa clash

For a lot of Rangers fans, tonight is the biggest the game they’ve played in a long time. Steven Gerrard has provided the fans with a feeling that they can be a big club again and if they can get past their Russian opposition tonight and next Thursday then they’ll be back in the Europa League.

Rangers have overcome FK Shkupi, Nk Osijek and Maribor to get where they are now and as it stands, Stevie G has just 180 minutes of football standing between him and the Europa League group stages. Reaching the groups of the Europa League would bring immense financial rewards for a club like Rangers and if Gerrard can deliver it then he will go down as an even bigger legend in the eyes of The Gers.

The Bluenoses will be taking every advantage they can ahead of the game and the fact that their Russian opposition played on Monday evening is definitely a bonus. Having to travel to Glasgow after playing earlier in the week won’t be easy for them. It also helps that they haven’t won in their last three games, losing to Dynamo Moscow and Krasnodar in the Russian League and drawing to Progress Niederkorn in the Europa League third-round qualifier.

The Gers are pumped for this one and you can read their comments here:

Getting a lead tonight to take into next Thursday’s return fixture will be crucial and if they can do that then they’ll be well placed to make a long-awaited return to the Europe League group stages.
