Rangers fans on Twitter really can’t get enough of their potential new management team

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister are set to become the two men in charge at Ibrox. Gerrard has long been linked with the job and now it’s been revealed that his number two will be former Scotland captain, McAllister, prompting the Rangers fans to be pretty pleased with the way their club’s going.

Whilst the Rangers fans propping our bar up have been suffering this season, the mood among the Bluenoses looks set to change as the fans celebrate the appointment of both Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister, former England and Scotland captains. The pair have a mammoth job on their hands as they prepare to try and claw back the gap between The Gers and their Old Firm rivals, Celtic, who are currently just one win away from completing Scotland’s first ever double-treble.

The fans have to be patient with their new duo, the Rangers job is Gerrard’s first in senior football as he’s spent the last two years with Liverpool’s U18 side following his retirement from the game and stepping up to senior football in a cauldron like Rangers will be tough. There’s no way the pair will be able to have Rangers competing on all fronts in their first season, but if they can target a strong league finish and avoid embarrassment in their fixtures with Celtic then their first season next year can be considered a success.
