Rangers fans on Twitter were going into panic mode yesterday when the game went into last ten minutes. However, their nerves were settled somewhat when Steven Gerrard made his second, and for some reason, final change of the evening, bringing on Kyle Lafferty for Ryan Jack.

Just five minutes later Lafferty was left gutted himself, along with the thousands of watching Gers fans, as his side faltered at the back and conceded the only goal of the evening, a goal which saw them drop out of the Europa League. The supporters faith that they’d put into Lafferty was drained from them from almost instantly, and it will be a long journey back from Vienna to Glasgow now for those travelling fans.
Steven Gerrard started out extremely well at Ibrox but over the last few months, there have been some cracks starting to appear. The Bluenoses simply do not know what to do with themselves at the moment. The Ibrox side sits 2nd in the Scottish Premier League and out of Europe and it looks like they’re a long way off of the pace with Celtic sitting two points ahead of them and with a game in hand. However, if they have the same faith in their side that they had in Lafferty yesterday then they should be fine.

The Gers were delighted to see Kyle Lafferty coming on yesterday and will just hope that the big man can have more of an impact in future matches.
