Rangers: Fans heap praise on academy team after UEFA Youth League progression

Rangers’ youth team are through to the next round of the UEFA Youth League after edging past Young Boys on away goals. Their 2-2 draw at home (5-5 on aggregate), including goals from Nathan Young-Coombes and a late equaliser by Daniel Finlayson on the 81st minute, got them over the line.
Will Rangers win the league?
Yes

No

They will now face Slovakian outfit Slovan Bratislava in the second round in the first and last week of November, with the home leg being played first. It’s great news for the club to see the youth team doing so well considering the first team’s budget for wages and players can’t compete with the top clubs in England. Steven Gerrard even admitted it’s hard to compete financially with their city rivals back in March.
The Gers could save millions if they can bring through some talented youngsters, and the fans are excited about the prospect of seeing some of them play at Ibrox. When the club posted the final score on the Rangers Youth Academy Twitter account, fans rushed to the replies to congratulate the team on their progression.
