Many Rangers fans have been talking about the latest contract news involving Kai Kennedy that recently emerged on social media.
The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell relayed a tweet highlighting an article about Kennedy’s situation. The journalist revealed that the 18-year-old is set to sign a new contract at Ibrox and whilst he has spent the first-half of the season on loan at Inverness, he will now go back out on loan again.
Does Kai Kennedy have a future at Rangers?
The youngster’s contract at Rangers was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but there is now an agreement to extend his deal at the Glasgow-based giants. The report from the Athletic has also stated that Kennedy was promoted to the Rangers first-team squad, but talks about his potential new deal had broken down last summer.
For Inverness this season, Kennedy made ten appearances in all competitions and eight of them came in the league. He scored one goal and that came in the Championship (as per Transfermarkt).
The news about Kennedy caught the attention of many Rangers fans, who began talking about the potential extension.
What did Rangers fans make of Kennedy’s contract news?
“That’s positive news, the lad look to have had his head turned by the big foreign clubs that have taken an interest. Seems to have got his focus back again. Can only be good news if he see’s his future in royal blue.”
“Good news would send him back to Inverness who are giving him a chance to play and he’s doing well there. There is plenty of potential in the lad hopefully now with his future sorted he gets his head down and kicks on.”
