Rangers fans take to Twitter in delight at controversial Bachmann dismissal

Rangers fans will still be delighted and on the high of watching their side smash five past a sorry Kilmarnock. The win was a convincing one and will delight the Gers, yet it wouldn’t have been possible had they not been aided by a dubious red card decision that saw Killie ‘keeper Daniel Bachmann taking an early shower.

With a Rangers corner set to come in, there was an incident in the penalty area surrounding Glen Kamara, Alan Power and Bachmann. On replay, it looked like Power was the one who lashed out at Kamara and now his goalkeeper. The Kilmarnock midfielder was lucky to stay on the pitch in the original cup tie when he kicked Ryan Jack in the head, and this time around he got his ‘keeper dismissed.

The sending off was certainly dubious, though, and when a side has to call on their bench to bring on a new goalkeeper it doesn’t usually end well. In this case, Jamie McDonald was the reserve goalkeeper who was called upon and he had a torrid time in the net, conceding four goals in his 65 minutes on the pitch. However, the Rangers fans won’t be complaining and will stick to their guns on the red card, even if it is rescinded.

The Gers will be delighted with their win and even though they were aided by a controversial red card it’s still one they can be pleased with as they prepare for a Scottish Cup quarter-final.
