Lee Wallace will always be a hero amongst Rangers fans. The 31-year-old left-back is an incredibly loyal defender and has stuck with the Ibrox faithful through thick and thin, only to be left out to dry by the club this season. Unfortunately, things haven’t been the same for Wallace over the last 12 months, but he got some precious minutes yesterday.

The score was 2-0, James Tavernier had bagged two penalties and Jermain Defoe had more than played his part in the win. With just three minutes left on the clock, the Bluenoses saw Lee Wallace come off the bench to replace the veteran striker for their 3rd and final substitution of the game for the home side, and it was a well-appreciated moment for the home fans.
Ibrox erupted when Wallace made his return, and the fact that he has been exiled this season is a joke in itself. The Scottish defender, alongside Kenny Miller, was sanctioned and given the most extreme penalty for his behaviour at the end of the Gers’ Scottish Cup semi-final to Celtic. The chances are that the 31-year-old will be leaving the club this summer and it’s only right that the fans had a chance to see their former captain off.

His only crime was loyalty

I was a bit emotional when he came on. Everything we've been through, he's been through with us.

Fantastic. Stood by us through thick and thin. A great servant to the club in our darkest hour. Well done Stevie G for putting him on

Time to put petty nonsense aside and get Wallace playing. He stayed when others shipped out…

The Gers hate the way that Wallace has been treated and will hope that the defender can somehow salvage a career at the club, even if it looks unlikely.
