Rangers fans take to Twitter to slam McGregor for needless red card

Rangers fans have heard these words a few times this season, but they had to finish yesterday’s game with ten men. This time it wasn’t Alfredo Morelos, which is always a bonus, but instead, it was Allan McGregor, who may have only got his first of the season but should have had more given his petulance and stupidity.
89' RED: Allan McGregor is sent off.

Allan McGregor, for the most part, has been a welcome addition to Ibrox this season after Steven Gerrard ensured he’d be returning to Glasgow when he signed him last summer. However, the way that the veteran Scottish shot-stopper has gone about his business has left plenty of fans wondering what goes through his head sometimes, and he was finally punished for it yesterday.
The way that he went in on Marc McNulty was nothing short of disgraceful. The Hibs striker was well within his rights to stand his ground as McGregor took a long kick out of his hands, yet McGregor followed through with his kick and attempted to plant his studs in the Hibs’ man’s back. In his post-match interview, Stevie G claimed ‘he would look silly’ if he tried to defend his goalkeeper, and the fans all feel the same way.
You can read the Gers’ verdict on McGregor’s dismissal here:
No need for him to do that. Just sheer stupidly.

He is worse than Alfredo 100%

He’s a great goalkeeper, but a complete tool, could have been sent off as many times as Morelos, just been caught this time, needs to grow up and stop being a plank

Madness! Deserved a red

I mean, what even. Why even do that? With how much time is left to go AFTER a save like that? Unbelievable.

Indefensible that

Unacceptable he put his team mates under more pressure than they should have been. As soon as I had seen wee Ross McCrorie put on the shirt and gloves I had confidence thanks to his brother we could hold on to the lead

MADNESS!!!! Can’t excuse him.

What is he thinking pure madness yet again

The Gers cannot understand what went through their goalkeeper’s head yesterday and will be desperate for McGregor to sort himself out ahead of next season.
