Eros Grezda hasn’t exactly been a hit with the Gers since he made the £2 million switch from NK Osijek to Ibrox over the summer and after yesterday it’s clear to see why. The Albanian winger was hooked at half-time at McDiarmid Park, and to say his performance left the fans frustrated would be a huge understatement.

The 23-year-old was replaced by the much more lively Glenn Middleton, and the youngster would go on to get an assist for the Gers’ equalising goal, something that Grezda would never have been able to do had been on the pitch still. In the end, it looks like Steven Gerrard’s decision to remove Grezda was a brilliant one as they claimed all three points, but questions will now be asked of the Albanian.
When a club like Rangers makes the decision to splash £2 million on a player, they simply have to perform, and the 23-year-old has failed to do so at Ibrox so far. In 13 appearances, the winger has managed just two goals and one assist, and they all came during the 7-1 thumping of Motherwell back in November. Consistency would be helpful for the winger, and if he could grab a goal against either Hibs or Celtic before the break it would do his confidence a world of good.

That Grezda is the biggest waste of money we’ve ever spent on a player. Absolutely brutal

Grezda had an off day. As did Barisic….

Good. Get him up The Barras and see what you can get for him. Anything over a tenner would be a great deal

Probably the worst signing I’ve seen at the club. Bring back Nino Capucho

The Gers were truly relieved when Grezda was subbed yesterday, and they’ll be desperate to see the Albanian left on the bench in future matches.
