Since arriving at Rangers on loan in January, Jermain Defoe has enjoyed a fantastic spell of form.

The former England striker has been an instant hit at Ibrox, and managed to score six goals and rack up five assists in just 12 Scottish Premiership games at the end of the 2018/19 campaign (via Transfermarkt).

This season he has got even better, and after just 14 matches in all competitions he has already helped himself to 12 goals, including hat-tricks against both Hibernian and Hamilton Academical (via Soccerbase).

Defoe is currently at Ibrox on a temporary deal from AFC Bournemouth, which is due to expire in 2020.

However, in a recent interview with Sky Sports the 37-year-old admitted that he was keen to stay in Glasgow beyond that point.

Given how many goals he has scored since his arrival, it would be a surprise if the club didn’t want to keep hold of the player. One thing is for sure though, the Rangers fans certainly want the ex-Sunderland striker to remain at Ibrox beyond this season.

Here is what some Gers fans had to say about Defoe potentially staying at the club on Twitter…
