Rangers fans were loving Ryan Kent after victory over Rapid Vienna

Optimism at Ibrox has been simmering ever since Steven Gerrard took the reigns earlier this year, and the feel good factor at the club reached boiling point last night as Rangers recorded an emphatic 3-1 win over Rapid Vienna.

After clinching a very respectable 2-2 draw away at Villarreal in their opening Europa League fixture, Rangers went one better last night with a home victory to savour for Steven Gerrard.

Alfredo Morelos stole the headlines with a brace to help Rangers on their way to three points, but there were plenty of other individuals who were lauded by the supporters in the aftermath of proceedings.

And one man who particularly caught the eye of supporters was summer signing Ryan Kent.

Kent arrived at Rangers on the back of a disappointing 2017/18 campaign in which two unsuccessful loan spells made it a year to forget for Liverpool’s academy product, but he is beginning to enjoy himself under Gerrard.

The 21-year-old winger has quietly impressed with his direct style of play on the left-side of an attacking midfield three, and he further endeared himself to the Ibrox faithful by bossing the game against Rapid Vienna.

It’s another match without a goal or an assist for Kent, but the quality of his overall performance has been greeted with delight by plenty of supporters.

Here’s what the Rangers fans had to say about Kent’s performance on Twitter…
