Rangers: Morelos blasted for St. Johnstone display

A lot of Rangers fans have been slating their club’s 24-year-old centre-forward, Alfredo Morelos, for his performance in the Glasgow club’s 3-0 Premiership win over St. Johnstone on Wednesday evening.
The Colombian was the first substitute that Rangers used in this game, as he replaced Kemar Roofe in the 64th minute.
The Gers already had a 3-0 lead when Morelos came on and the £13.5m-rated man had a chance to increase that lead in the 84th minute following a ‘mix up at the back’ for St. Johnstone, but that attempt on goal flew past the post.
That was Morelos’ only shot in this contest and he finished the game with the lowest WhoScored rating of any Gers player (5.84). He also ended the game having taken the third-fewest touches of any Rangers player (17) with Bongani Zungu, who came on as a substitute 13 minutes after him, even taking more touches of the ball, per WhoScored.
So, what did these Rangers fans have to say about Morelos’ performance versus St. Johnstone?
Many supporters of the Glasgow club directed fierce criticism at the 24-year-old for his display on Wednesday, with some Gers fans blasting the striker for missing that chance in the 84th minute, in particular.
“Morelos is hopeless”
“Good professional performance. Just punt Morelos for 10 Mill and move on from that waster.”
“Good points mate, but to me we’ve lost the Morelos of old.”
“Morelos is such an odd player, you just look at him and wonder how he’s made it as a striker”
“He needs a goal so bad…not even hitting target is embarrassing.”
“Horrendous finishing from Morelos.”
