Rangers: Pundit concerned by Ryan Jack setback

Speaking to Football Insider, former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan addressed Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm clash.
The pundit shared some concern for Rangers heading into Saturday’s meeting with their bitter rivals Celtic because of Jack’s ‘latest injury setback’ with the Scotland international having initially been lined up for a return to first-team action in last weekend’s clash with Hibernian before Steven Gerrard revealed that he wasn’t ready.
A “massive blow” for Rangers
Jack last featured for the Glasgow club on November 22nd as he helped his side beat Aberdeen 4-0. He’s been sidelined with a knee injury since that game and Whelan shared that he feels Jack’s absence from Saturday’s meeting between the Premiership’s top-two “is going to be a massive blow” for the Gers.
It may be understandable why Whelan feels that the £1.53m-rated man’s absence would significantly weaken Rangers versus their rivals when you consider how impressively Jack has performed in some areas for the Premiership leaders this term.
Per WhoScored, the 28-year-old has made the second-highest number of passes per game (79.5), the third-highest number of long-balls per game (4.2) and the joint-third-highest number of interceptions per game (1.2) of any Rangers player in Scotland’s top flight this term.
Would Jack's absence be a massive blow for Saturday?
YES

NO

As a result, surely Gerrard would want him in his midfield for what could be a vital game in the title race and his presence will be missed if he can’t play.
In other news, former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Sheffield United’s John Lundstram would be a good signing for Rangers.
