Rangers have bid for Kyle Lafferty rejected

Rangers will be pleased to have come away with a 1-0 victory against Osijek yesterday evening to leave Steven Gerrard’s side in a strong position to qualify for the next round.

The Light Blues scored early on in the first half through Alfredo Morelos as they take the one-goal lead back to Ibrox.

Gerrard was pleased with the performance of his players on the night, however, it appears that the club are still looking at bringing in further additions to help with their aims this season.

According to a report in The Daily Record, Rangers have had a bid for Heart of Midlothian’s Kyle Lafferty turned down, with an offer well below the Edinburgh outfit’s valuation.

It is believed that the Light Blues are looking to test their Scottish Premiership rival’s resolve for their former player as he has just one year left on his current deal, although it appears a bid of £200,000 is not going to tempt them.

The Verdict:

It is thought the Northern Ireland international is a wanted man from abroad so Rangers will need to act quickly if they want to bring the former Ger back to Ibrox.

The striker has proven he can still play at a top level, as he netted 19 times for Hearts last season, and Lafferty would be a welcomed addition once again for the Light Blues.

Gerrard is keen to add to his attacking options, with just Morelos and Umar Sadiq as his only recognised strikers in the squad.
