Many Rangers fans will be delighted after seeing bitter rivals Celtic slip up against Aberdeen yesterday, as it’s provided a slight bit of hope in the title race. Imagine the scenes if the Light Blues somehow manage to turn things around and bring home the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Steven Gerrard has already established himself as a hero at Ibrox in the current campaign and he’s already left his mark in the summer transfer window, so fans will be all the more excited to see what happens in the summer.
What’s the news?
According to BT Sport host Darrell Currie as cited by the Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in signing Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie in the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, the Scotland international ace is in the final few months of his contract at Pittodrie and is going to be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Many fans may be slightly confused as to why the Light Blues are looking to bring Shinnie to Ibrox in the summer, but he could definitely provide a lot of experience and his versatility could come in handy with the ability to play as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder or at left-back.
The Light Blues could lose Lee Wallace in the summer, so Shinnie could provide competition for the likes of Andy Halliday and Borna Barisic next season, and Lassana Coulibaly will return to his parent club in the summer so he could be used in many different positions if he rocks up in Glasgow.
His defensive qualities and ability to pick a pass could work wonders for Rangers in different areas on the field, so it wouldn’t harm them to bring him in on a free in the summer.
Rangers fans, do you believe Shinnie can better your current squad?
