Rangers have been keeping tabs on Moussa Konate, although Courrier Picard claim they will only be able to sign him should they offload some of their own players first.
The report does not appear to be optimistic that will happen and believe the Senegal international will be remaining at Amiens until January at the very least.
The Ligue One outfit are said to be open to allowing the striker to leave the club, although that appears unlikely at the moment.
According to his characteristics (via WhoScored), Konate is also very strong in the air as he likes to make a number of attempts with his head – which is something Rangers may benefit from because of the wing options that Steven Gerrard appears to like to play with a 4-3-3 formation and utilise wing play at times (Modern Fitba).
L’Equipe had initially claimed earlier in the month that Rangers were interested in signing the Senegalese forward for a fee of around €10m (£9m) as a potential replacement for Alfredo Morelos, although it would appear the Colombian will still be at Ibrox barring any late moves.
Indeed, with the Light Blues thought to be in a position of requiring to offload players before adding new faces to their side, it might be difficult for Steven Gerrard to get a deal for Konate across the line in the final moments of Monday’s transfer deadline.
The African looks to be a rather fine attacker on paper, so it will be interesting to see if Rangers look to make a move for him in January, should he still remain at Amiens.
