With speculation surrounding David Goodwillie’s future and with Celtic and Rangers in for the hitman it is widely speculated that he will be at Ibrox playing his football next season.
Rangers have been monitoring the youngster for a while and after hitting 20 goals for Dundee United last term there will be no shortage of takers. Rangers are keen to add to their strike force with Lafferty and Jelavic being the main two upfront they would see Goodwillie as the ideal candidate to lead their assault on a fourth consecutive title.
David has took the SPL by storm and after scoring into both halves of the Old Firm he has left them under no illusions that he has the quality to step up a level and be a success at either club.
Rangers are already rumoured to complete the signing of Craig Conway on a free transfer and this could lead to to Goodwillie following his team mate to Ibrox.
Manager Ally McCoist will be looking to add numbers to his depleted squad as the club were low on numbers last term, forcing Walter Smith to bring in youngsters such as Greg Wylde and Jamie Ness, who went on to play valuable parts in the outcome of the championship.
This is going to be a busy summer for Ally as he may need to add six or seven players to his squad as well as signing up players on new contracts with some futures still remaining uncertain.
