Rangers made a number of additions to their side in the summer as Steven Gerrard looked to make them as strong as possible.
The likes of Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria both followed him from Liverpool to Ibrox on season-long loan deals, whilst Jon Flanagan teamed up with him as a free transfer.
However, it appears that Gerrard had another man on his wishlist that he wanted to bring from the Anfield outfit in the summer.
Gerrard knows the left-back from his time working with the Under-18s and it appears that the 18-year-old did enough to impress him during his stint with the club.
Lewis has been a regular for the Under-23s this season and has been in stellar form for the developmental side, having been excellent in the attacking third as well as defensively.
Lewis is an exciting prospect at Liverpool and if he continues to develop as well as he is doing so at the moment, he could look to become a star in the future for the Reds.
Gerrard made it a priority to strengthen his defence and has managed to do so significantly, with the likes of Borna Barisic being added to the left-hand side, whilst Flanagan has also filled in there during the Croatian’s absence with injury.
However, despite adding to his squad sufficiently this summer, he is likely to remain a keen admirer of Lewis and should Liverpool be prepared to loan him out to further aid his development, Rangers could be at the front of the queue.
