Rangers fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that Steven Gerrard can enjoy a successful time of things, as supporters will want to see silverware at Ibrox next season.
Indeed, the Bluenoses will be desperate to get this season over and done with as they’ve failed to meet expectations. Sadly, Rangers haven’t managed to ensure consistency and struggled to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic, as plenty of improvements will be needed over the course of the summer. Although, caretaker manager Jimmy Nicholl’s future is currently surrounded with doubt, as according to a statement from Jimmy Nicholl via Rangers’ official Twitter account, he is not certain on his plans for the future.
Rangers appointed Steven Gerrard as their new manager after sacking former boss Graeme Murty, which is something that many of our local residents didn’t agree with as the Liverpool legend is very inexperienced.
Jimmy Nicholl is currently the caretaker manager at Rangers but his future is up in the air as he recently stated that he wasn’t certain on his future plans.
“I know the reason why I was brought in, I’m not certain on my plans for the future.”
The 61-year-old was brought to Ibrox as Graeme Murty’s number two back in January, but with Steven Gerrard now in the managerial hot seat, the former Falkirk assistant manager is unsure on where his future may lie.
Supporters will be looking forward to next season already as Steven Gerrard may be able to take them to the next level, however, Jimmy Nicholl has made a positive impact since joining the club back in January, so many of our local residents are hoping that he will remain at the club.
