Rangers do not appear to have given up on trying to bring Martin Skrtel to the club.
Steven Gerrard is understood to be keen on bringing his former Liverpool team-mate to Ibrox since the summer, however, he has failed to lure him so far.
It appears the Slovakian is determined to focus on the second half of the season at Fenerbahce after a poor first half.
Skrtel wants to get the club out of the relegation zone in the Turkish Super Lig before talking about a new deal, with his current one set to expire in the summer.
Fanatik stated the defender had said: “We need to get out of the relegation zone first before talking about a new contract. I am only focusing on the next matches. For contract, we will sit down and talk at the end of the season.”
Skrtel has been linked with a move to Rangers ever since Gerrard took over the Light Blues.
However, a move looks as though it may not materialise until next summer at the earliest, should the Slovakia international decide to leave Fenerbahce.
Gerrard has already been busy adding names to his squad at Ibrox in January, however, the 34-year-old does not look like one that could be joining in the near future.
