According to The Scottish Sun Israeli striker Tomer Hemed is about to complete a sensational switch to the Scottish champions and become Ally McCoist’s first signing as boss of Rangers.
Hemed was an influential part of Maccabi Haifa’s team last season helping them to the league title by scoring 15 goals in his last 22 appearances. This saw Hemed lead the clubs scoring charts with 17 goals and attract interest from clubs in Spain, Germany and Italy. This is a major coup for Rangers with the lure of Champions League football thought to be the reason behind the players wanting to come to the SPL.
With the signing of Hemed all but complete this is sure to bolster the Rangers front line as they are limited on options with just Jelavic and Lafferty being the notable front two. Hemed could be just the type of player for the SPL with his strong physical presence and an eye for goal, this could be just the signing needed for McCoist to start this new era under his management.
