Rangers outcast could be about to seal move away from Ibrox – report

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the movements that Steven Gerrard has already made since being at the club.

The newly-appointed manager has been extremely active in the transfer market, having made seven signings already as he shows his intent in making sure his side is in a strong enough position to make a charge for the Scottish Premiership.

Gerrard has seen his defence as a main area of focus this summer, having made a vast amount of his additions with that in mind, and it appears one man in the Light Blues squad could be about to depart.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Lee Hodson could be about to make a temporary switch to Rotherham United as they look to get ready for their year back in the Championship. The defender will be considered surplus to requirements at Ibrox this summer with the arrival of Jon Flanagan and James Tavernier already in the squad, a loan move could get the right-back a chance of playing regular football.

Landlord’s Verdict

Many of the Rangers fans in the Tavern would not be surprised to see the Northern Ireland international leave Ibrox this summer and would be happy for Gerrard to let him depart. The defender, when given the chance, has come in for criticism from the locals for his performances and have called for him to leave before.

A loan move might just be the best option for Hodson at the present moment, as it does not look like he will get a chance to prove himself in the first-team and he could benefit from playing regular football with Rotherham in England’s second-tier.
