Rangers: Gers fans respond to Vaclav Hladky speculation following comments

St Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky has claimed that Rangers want to sign him and that “negotiations are underway” with the Ibrox club as reported by The Scottish Sun.
At first glance, Rangers currently have an abundance of ‘keepers with Allan McGregor the undisputed number 1 and Wes Foderingham as a back-up. However, Foderingham is out of contract at the end of the season and, as yet, no details about the offer of a new deal have been announced.
Elsewhere, Jak Alnwick and Andy Firth are also out of contract at the end of the season and haven’t looked like putting any pressure on the aforementioned pair. Robbie McCrorie, starring on loan at Queen of the South, remains a long-term prospect to take over from McGregor, depending on departures, Rangers fans may see him spend next season completing his apprenticeship at Ibrox.
Indeed, surely Hladky won’t have done himself any favours by saying that he’d rather leave Scotland and move to the English Championship and he may find that he has inadvertently ended “negotiations”.
Rangers fans took to Twitter in response to the speculation and gave their verdict on the Buddies stopper.
Good keeper, would be a solid replacement for Foderingham

Would like to see young Robbie mccrorie be the back up keeper next year , would be a good long term replacement for Mcgregor when the time comes

Tbf one of the best keepers I’ve seen at Ibrox in the last 3 or so years, up there with Kelly

Rangers in discussions with Vaclav Hladky must mean that Wes Foderingham will be departing when his contract expires. No doubt looking for first team football, a very good keeper but not on Alan McGregor’s level. Shame to lose such a strong understudy but wish him well if true.

Saw him a lot over the last year.
Just my opinion, but he is 2nd only to McGregor in the league. Hell be playing in England eventually if not us.

Would be quite pleased if we signed Hladký to replace Foderingham, though I’m not sure how that would fit in with the long term plan for Robby McCrorie’s development.
