Rangers rebuild shows no signs of slowing down with club looking to land £675k-rated man

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will want to put the disappointing season behind them and will look forward to the future with Steven Gerrard at the helm.

The new manager has already been making changes with the Ibrox outfit, having completed the signing of Burnley’s Scott Arfield, however, it appears that he is far from done this summer in regards to recruitment.

The Liverpool legend has identified his defence as a key area to improve immediately and according to The Scottish Sun, he is looking to the Premier League for bodies to join him in Glasgow.

The media outlet are claiming Rangers are trying to sign Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back Connor Goldson, who has steadily impressed with the Seagulls during his time at the AMEX Stadium.

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be pleased Gerrard and the club are already making moves to improve the squad to try and compete against Old Firm rivals Celtic for domestic honours and will be excited with the prospect of Goldson.

The 25-year-old (valued at £675k by Transfermarkt) has had a difficult time recently, having required open heart surgery back in February 2017, however, he has shown that he can come back from it better and stronger, having made his Premier League debut last December.

The centre-back position has been considerably weakened over the past few months and with David Bates joining Hamburg and Bruno Alves looking to be sold, Goldson could be a signing to make an immediate impact at Ibrox.
