Rangers are in a great position to secure silverware in Steven Gerrard’s first season in Scottish football, with his biggest test coming up tomorrow against Celtic.
Steven Gerrard couldn’t have wished for a better start as Rangers boss having enjoyed an incredible start to proceedings in the current campaign. And, he even worked his magic on the transfer front yesterday, as according to the Express, Rangers are in advanced talks with Alfredo Morelos over a new deal.
Dynamo Kiev were ready to offer £7 million and sounded out Alfredo Morelos’ camp but were told the player wants to sign a new deal at Ibrox, with Bordeaux, who were preparing a £5 million bid, getting the same answer.
And, talks are already at an advanced stage with Morelos, who will be handed a significant wage rise, extending his existing contract which is due to run until 2021.
Alfredo Morelos has been on absolute fire so far this season as he just can’t seem to stop scoring goals, with a new contract being just rewards for his efforts.
Indeed, Steven Gerrard has already made a number of positive changes since making the move to Scotland, but securing an agreement with the 22-year-old may just be his best piece of business yet, with the Bluenoses in advanced talks with the forward.
