Rangers reject opening offer for Alfredo Morelos

Rangers could have a battle on their hands this summer as interest continues to grow for one of their star men.

According to a report by Sky Sports, the Light Blues have rejected an initial offer in excess of £3.75million from Bordeaux for Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs ever since he joined the Scottish outfit from HJK Helsinki, with bids from China and Turkey having been rumoured in the past.

The 22-year-old has already opened his goalscoring account for this season, with three strikes so far, following on from the 18 times he netted during last year’s campaign.

However, there are concerns over his disciplinary record, with the striker already being shown a red card this season, although it was quickly revoked after an appeal by Rangers.

The Verdict:

Gerrard will be desperate to keep Morelos at Ibrox this summer as he will be vital to their plans for the season.

The Light Blues are short of attacking options at the moment and Rangers will not want to lose him to Bordeaux at this current stage.

The club are thought to be working on a deal for Kyle Lafferty to rejoin them, however, they will want to ensure the South American remains with them if they are to have any chance of competing in the Scottish Premiership and the Europa League.
