Steven Gerrard has already managed to make a number of additions since arriving at Rangers in the summer.
However, one man that appears to have been difficult for him to capture is Martin Skrtel – a player he knows very well from their time together at Liverpool.
The defender is thought to have been on Gerrard’s radar since the summer and it appears he could be about to try and finally bring him to Ibrox.
The 33-year-old’s present deal at Fenerbahce expires at the end of the season and is now allowed to speak to foreign clubs about a pre-contract agreement.
The Light Blues are thought to have approached Skrtel’s agent about a potential move, however, the Turkish side are keen to try and tie him down to a new contract.
Stories surrounding Skrtel and a possible move to Rangers kept on appearing in the summer and it appears they may continue to do so throughout January.
The experienced defender would certainly be a great addition to the Light Blues as he has plenty of experience to offer to a number of the players already at Ibrox.
However, with Fenerbahce and West Ham all keen on the 33-year-old, the Scottish Premiership outfit could miss out on him.
