Rangers reportedly worlds away from securing next agreement for Gerrard’s masterplan

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will not know what to believe these days when it comes to rumours about one particular player.

Steven Gerrard has been busy trying to bring in a number of additions to Ibrox this summer as he looks to reshape his squad in order to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic and one man has been touted to join him in Glasgow.

Martin Skrtel has been the subject of interest from the Light Blues and talks have appeared to be stumbling, despite early claims that the Scottish side and Fenerbahce have agreed to a deal. One report has stated that the new chief is not interested in bringing his former team-mate to Ibrox, however, another is stating there is a difference in financial figures.

The Scottish Sun are claiming that Gerrard is keen on bringing the Slovakia international, however, the player’s agent has revealed a deal is “terribly far apart.”

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will want the ongoing transfer saga going on between Skrtel and the club to be concluded sooner rather than later, as the club are desperate for centre-backs.

That area of the field is in need of strengthening and the locals will feel if the club spends too long on the 33-year-old, then they may miss out on other targets this summer.
