Rangers set to complete Kyle Lafferty deal

Rangers could be about to seal their 12th signing of the summer in the imminent future.

According to a report by The Daily Record, the Light Blues are thought to have agreed to a fee with Heart of Midlothian for Kyle Lafferty.

The former Ibrox star is thought to be discussing terms about a return to the Glasgow outfit this summer and could be unveiled as a Ger by the end of the day (Wednesday).

Should the Northern Ireland international striker finalise and complete his switch, he could also be included in their Europa League tie against FC Ufa on Thursday, giving Steven Gerrard an added boost to his side.

The 30-year-old had been the subject of a number of bids over the last couple of weeks, however, it now appears that a deal has been struck between the two Scottish Premiership sides.

The Verdict:

Lafferty’s arrival at Ibrox will certainly be a welcomed addition to the Rangers squad this summer.

Despite all the signings already made, Gerrard had still been lacking options in the attacking department, with just Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq as his only recognised frontmen.

Lafferty will be hoping to have a similar impact as he did during his first spell with the Light Blues, where he netted 38 times in 138 games and helped the club to lift three league titles.
