Rangers have already made great strides on the transfer front so far, with another couple of signigns expected before the window closes.
Steven Gerrard has already worked wonders at Ibrox as he continues to defy expectations having enjoyed a strong managerial start and drafted in players that Rangers would have only dreamed of signing last season. And, it looks as if the Bluenoses are looking to acquire another player, as according to the Daily Record, Rangers are set to make a second bid for Kyle Lafferty.
It’s believed that the Tynecastle club viewed the initial Ibrox bid of £200,000 (including staged payment terms), as an insult and disrespectful.
And with the clubs having previous conflict in the field over Gers’ pursuit of Jamie Walker last year, it’s unlikely Ann Budge will move towards any kind of middle ground from Hearts’ valuation.
Interestingly, it’s understood that Rangers will make a second bid for Lafferty this week, but it won’t be more than £300,000, a figure that the Bluenoses think is reasonable for the 30-year-old.
So, Steven Gerrard is eyeing attacking reinforcements in the form of Kyle Lafferty as the Bluenoses are currently lacking depth in attacking areas. Although, with Rangers having their first bid rejected, they’re now looking to go in with a second bid, but they may face rejection once again as they’re currently way off Hearts’ valuation still.
