The pressure is starting to mount at Ibrox as Steven Gerrard’s side are finding it difficult to chase down Neil Lennon’s Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title, which has made some supporters turn their attention towards the League Cup instead.
It’s safe to say that Steven Gerrard has defied expectations since rocking up in Scotland and many fans will be grateful for what he’s already achieved in his short time at Ibrox.
He could take things one step further by securing a player agreement for one of Scotland’s most promising youngsters, Jake Hastie. Rangers have reportedly (as per Express) already held signing talks but they face competition from a number of sides, and Celtic have been linked (as per Scottish Sun), so it won’t be easy.
Indeed, the youngster has produced five goals and one assist in eight Scottish Premiership appearances, with the most impressive thing being that he’s only 19 years of age.
However, his potential arrival could spell trouble for Eros Grezda. The Albania international has spent time out on the sidelines due to injury and hasn’t been able to have much of a positive impact during appearances. So, Hastie joining could bring his Rangers career to an end as Gerrard already has Ryan Kent at his disposal and will no doubt look to sign him permanently, while Hastie’s recent form suggests he could also leapfrog him in the pecking order, which could force Grezda into looking elsewhere.
Rangers fans, would you be bothered about Grezda potentially leaving?
