Rangers fans here in the Tavern are excited about the prospect of facing their bitter rivals at the weekend, as Sunday’s Old Firm derby will have a huge say in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.

The Gers have been in inspired form of late as they secured another emphatic victory at the weekend, a result that saw Rangers book themselves a place in the Scottish Cup semi-final. Although, there has been some developments involving one of the Gers’ current stars, as according to reports in the Scottish Sun, Rangers midfielder Sean Goss is a target for Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill.

Michael O’Neill is determined to freshen up his squad with the addition of midfielder Sean Goss, as it’s believed that the Northern Ireland manager wants the 22-year-old, who qualifies through his grandparents. Although, it’s understood that the young man is currently mulling over whether to commit to Northern Ireland.

German-born midfielder Goss has been sensational during his loan spell with Rangers so far, as one of the standout performers in the Scottish Premier League since joining from Queens Park Rangers in January.

Indeed, Graeme Murty has already expressed an interest in bringing the midfielder in on a permanent deal at the end of the season, but Goss insists that he hasn’t thought about his long-term club future.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Sean Goss committing to Northern Ireland would see him earn an automatic place in their squad, but there’s still a lot of things that the player needs to take into consideration. And, our local residents would love nothing more than to welcome the 22-year-old to Ibrox on a permanent deal, but it remains to be seen as to whether there’s a possibility in this happening.
