Rangers star suffered worst injury of his career

Rangers fans here in the Tavern would love to go injury free for the rest of the campaign, as some quite severe injuries have been obtained at Ibrox so far.

Graeme Murty has some of the world’s veterans in his ranks as the club’s manager this season, with the likes of Bruno Alves (36) and Kenny Miller (38) totalling a whopping combined age of 74-years-old. Indeed, with age generally comes an increased liability to injuries, and this is exactly what’s happened for the experienced pair this season. However, Kenny Miller has been considerably worse off than the Portuguese defender, as according to comments from the Scottish striker (via Rangers’ Twitter account), Miller stated that his current hamstring injury is the worst muscular injury he’s had in his entire career.

Indeed, the Rangers veteran suffered a hamstring injury back in December during a 2-1 victory at Easter Road, and managed to make a return to Murty’s side in their midweek win over Partick Thistle.

The Scottish talisman managed to accumulate four goals and four assists during his time in the side this season, as a player that shows no signs of ageing in the performances displayed for the Gers. Indeed, with there still being two months left in the season, the 38-year-old will be hoping to play a huge part in the remainder of the Gers’ European pledge this campaign.

Landlord’s Verdict:

There’s no doubt that the experienced striker can still perform at a high-level for Rangers, but having suffered what’s been the worst muscular injury in the player’s long and illustrious career, it’s yet to be seen as to whether he can recover to hit the heights prior to the casualty. Although, his experience will be key in the remainder of the Ger’s fixtures this season, as the forward’s wisdom and advice can benefit both players and staff at troubling times.
